This is a filter ring (for 82mm filter diameter) that allows quick attachment and removal of circular filters. Hook to prevent falling off is not included.
The contact point with the lens is made of EVA (synthetic resin) for press-fit installation.
It allows instantaneous shooting without filters and with filters, as well as quick replacement of filters with other filters.
The packing at the contact point with the lens may deteriorate after a few years, depending on how often it is used, so a replacement pad is also available.
