The KANI Skyblue Dual Purpose GND 0.6 is a groundbreaking graduated ND filter that not only balances exposure in bright skies but also adds a natural sky-blue tone to overcast or pale skies. This filter is the result of a collaborative development with acclaimed photographer Junichi Date, following the same dual-function concept as KANI’s classic Dual Purpose filters.

With a dual-sided design, this filter provides both Soft and Hard GND effects in one unit—simply flip it vertically to switch between effects, allowing for greater flexibility in a wide range of landscape photography situations.

Unlike the original Dual Purpose 0.75 model, the Skyblue version uses ND 0.6 to ensure a more subtle blue tint. It avoids overly saturated skies and instead adds a delicate enhancement to washed-out or hazy atmospheres—ideal for cloudy weather or flat-light conditions. Even when used with a CPL filter that may introduce uneven polarization in the sky, this filter offers a smooth gradient that corrects sky color beautifully.

To support such use cases, the ND-tinted area is widened to 33mm (compared to 25mm on previous models), offering more usable surface for fine-tuned positioning.

Please note: This filter utilizes a unique color-coated glass, which may show a slightly higher risk of internal reflection (ghosting) in direct sunlight compared to standard Dual Purpose models.
